Why Parc Guell is the coolest place in Barcelona
Parks, usually boring right? I mean why would you go all the way across the world to sit on a blanket in a park. You can do that on Temescal any day of the week. Well, let me be the one to tell you, Parc Guell is…a park on steroids. Not steroids, but something pretty close… it is magical! Imagine Dr Seuss like architecture, stunning verandas of Barcelona, and cool lookout points you have to climb up…carefully.
You would never see a park this modern in the US! The park is incredibly colorful and full of interesting modern statues and architecture. With trails and interesting points to stop and marvel at, this is not your grandma’s neighborhood park. This garden-like city was created by Antonio Gaudi, the guy who helped shape the cool vibe that Barcelona has today.
Let’s grab some Pan con Tomate, (rustic Catalan bread smothered in tomatoes, olive oil and garlic…mmmm) and spend a day in the park, exploring, listening to live music and marveling at all the beautiful and colorful structures that make up Parc Guell. Here’s a bit of a laugh for you all. One of the funniest street performers we may get to see at Parc Guell!
